Curse of the Crimson Throne
Member of Korvosan Guard
Grau was once a lean man, with packets of steely muscle on his well-honed physique, with piercing green eyes. Now, he’s a mess — he hasn’t changed his uniform in weeks and reeks of stale sweat and ale.
A well-liked Watch Sergeant, the king’s death has hit him hard, but the riots and his own past hit him harder. Grau was discovered drunkenly wandering the streets after the riots began, reeking of stale sweat, vomit and rotgut. You went to great lengths to sober up the man, making repeated attempts to convince him that he was making a fool of himself.
Away from drink, Grau revealed that had been taken under the wing of Vencarlo Orisini, one of Korvosa’s most talented swordfighters, and had fallen for one of Orsini’s other pupils, a young woman named Sabina Merrin. The fact that Sabina herself was more interested in women complicated matters even further, eventually resulting in a three-way confrontation of frustration and misunderstandings.
Realizing that his actions were destructive at best, Grau returned to Citadel Volshyenek on his own to make amends and has since taken up the mantle of Guard Sergeant with renewed vigor.
